Lapis Lazuli, Chinese Obsidian and 14k rolled gold
This lapis and obsidian necklace is quite exceptional. The lapis is a rich blue beautifully veined with pyrite inclusions which makes each bead look like a miniature star map of the heavens. This colour is enhanced by the bluish “oily” hues amidst the black of the obsidian.
Lapis is renowned for its ability to bring calm and aid dreams and visions while obsidian has always traditionally been used for scrying, the art of “seeing” on a flat or polished surface.
While I was making this piece the energy between the combination of both minerals was quite incredible. They literally exuded a sense of calm and well-being, the crystals themselves dictating the simple yet effective design. The feel of the finished necklace is delightful.
