Rhodonite is named after the Greek word for rose
Rhodonite crystallizes in the form of masses, grains, and tabular crystals, sometimes with rounded edges. The colour range includes pink to rose red, brown-red, green yellow, and black. It often has black manganese oxide veins running through it, giving it a distinct appearance.
Larger specimens usually have black veins running through them. Some specimens tarnish black or brown upon exposure to air.
I have a beautiful specimen that is sliced and polished on one face. The black striations form wonderful tree like patterns, but slowly it is going slightly darker due to exposure to air.
Rhodonite is a stone of love and helps one to achieve their greatest potential. It helps generate a feeling of oneness and unconditional love to the physical plane.
This mineral can create a clear path to balance the yin-yang energy, synthesizing the qualities of attunement with the spirituality of the universe, and balancing the energies of the Earth plane. It can help one to attain calm assurance in all activities.
It is also excellent for stimulation, clearing, and activation of the heart chakra. I purchased my large slab shortly before meeting Daniel, who is now not only my life partner, but also my jewellery making partner.
It is said that Rhodonite helps one to recognise and in implement the actions required to encourage and further the unity of humanity, and awakens the serving aspects of ones nature and encourages generosity of spirit. It helps one to understand that each individual has their own path to tread, whether grand or humble.
It dispels anxiety and promotes coherence, bringing to the user an observant nature and facilitating attention to details and interrelationships.
The serving side of rhodonite relates to the Page of Cups in Tarot, the planet Neptune and to the sun sign of Virgo.
